Anthony Joshua’s physique has changed dramatically over the years.

As a teenager just starting out on his boxing journey, AJ was a skinny figure.

Joshua is now built like a beast

He began training and lifting weights at Finchley ABC, slowly developing his muscles.

By the time he won Olympic gold in 2012, Joshua was at an intermediate stage and then pushed on to become the powerhouse he is today.

Now he stands as an absolute unit holding the WBA, IBF and WBO titles to be two-time, unified heavyweight world champion in 2020.

On Thursday evening, AJ posted a video on social media showing his transformation.

The clip showed some classic footage of him on the speedbag as a teenager and then cut to him on the same bag today.

Joshua captioned it: “I wanted to thank you for your support, it’s brought me through tough times.”

Last week AJ opened up to Men’s Health about dealing with criticism.

He said: “I think that it’s hard to ignore it. I’m not going to lie and say that I don’t pay attention to any of that, because it’s impossible not to see.

“I started my social media on my own and, even though it has turned into a business page, I still handle a lot of it myself.

“I think that it’s fine to have doubters, as long as you don’t believe what they’re saying the whole time.

“You have to prove your doubters wrong. When they don’t believe, you should always believe. The doubters aren’t always bad, either. You just have to try to find something positive out of it.

“They might say, ‘You’re s**t, and you’re going to get knocked out because your hands are too low.’

“And I would think, ‘That’s a good indication I’ve got to keep my left hand up.’ I use the doubters as a positive factor, not as a negative one.”
