Derek Chisora has mocked his old rival Dillian Whyte over his wait for a world title shot.
Brixton’s ‘Body Snatcher’ beat Chisora with a contentious points decision back in 2016, before settling any controversy with a conclusive knockout in their rematch two years later.
Whyte and Chisora went to war on December 10, 2016
In between these two bouts, Whyte defeated Robert Helenius in 2017 for the WBC ‘silver’ belt.
This win saw him then become ranked #1 by the WBC and he has been campaigning for a shot at the title ever since.
Last year, the Brit beat Oscar Rivas in a final eliminator which finally made him mandatory challenger.
He has now been mandatory for just over 12 months. It has been 1000 days since he was first installed as WBC #1.
Whyte won the rematch in brutal fashion
After finding out about the 1000 days statistic, Chisora posted a mocking image to his Instagram story.
He quoted an old line he said to Whyte during their first ‘Gloves Are Off’ and captioned it: “Who is the donkey now? Still waiting Dillian Whyte.”
Whyte was seemingly not impressed and replied instantly.
He said: “Hahahaha, you are the donkey that got put down mate.
“Your trainer was praying for you, thought you died.”
Whyte responded to Chisora’s post on his own story
Chisora bounced back from his KO defeat to Whyte with three consecutive wins.
He is now scheduled to face Oleksandr Usyk next, once crowds return to the events in the UK.
Meanwhile, Whyte is going to face Alexander Povetkin on August 22 in the Matchroom HQ back garden.
