Dillian Whyte and his team trolled Alexander Povetkin’s team by copying their outfits at the weigh-in on Friday.
The Russian group caused amusement on social media late last week as they turned up in the questionable co-ordinated tracksuits upon arrival in the UK.
Team Povetkin’s outfits were mocked online
Somehow within the short space of time, Whyte managed to get his own versions made for himself and his team.
On Friday, the Brits turned up wearing them to poke fun at Povetkin, who did not look overly amused.
As for the weigh-in itself, the ‘Body Snatcher’ was clearly in poor condition last time out against Mariusz Wach, but has rectified this during lockdown.
Whyte’s spent the entire last five months out in Portugal.
Whyte copied Povetkin’s style
When it became apparent that the borders were about to shut back in early March, he quickly jumped in his car and made it over to camp so he could adequately prepare for the fight.
The date was pushed back from May 2, to July 4, and is now all set to take place at Matchroom Fight Camp on Saturday night.
Warm weather training has been Whyte’s secret weapon and it appears to have done the trick.
Whyte’s team got in on the act too
Whyte has had a full camp and come in at 252.4lbs (18st 0lbs 6oz).
He has lost 18.6lbs (1st 4lbs 6oz).
Meanwhile, Povetkin came in at 224lbs (16st 0lbs 0oz).
