Dillian Whyte has shot down Frank Warren’s idea of a fight between him and Daniel Dubois happening next.
The ‘Body Snatcher’ is due to face Alexander Povetkin this weekend and victory would cement his position as the WBC’s mandatory challenger for the winner of Tyson Fury vs Deontay Wilder 3.

Recently though, Warren put out a proposal to work with Whyte’s promoter Eddie Hearn on a series of cross-promotional fights.
He argued that, as Fury could be busy fighting Anthony Joshua next year, Whyte should face Dubois instead.
Warren asked the public: “Who wouldn’t want to see Dillian Whyte taking on the best young heavyweight in the world, Daniel Dubois, later this year or early next while Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua are making other plans?”

Whyte has now responded and said: “Frank needs to stay off the liquor, man. He’s just trying to deviate from the Tyson Fury fight.
“Why would I fight Daniel Dubois when I’m mandatory for the WBC world title? Daniel brings nothing at all to the table.
“There’s no reason for me to fight him.
“They know I love a fight and it doesn’t take much to get me into a fight, so they are just trying to throw some bait out there.
Whyte is WBC ‘interim’ champion and mandatory challenger for Tyson Fury
“If they strip him [Fury] I won’t need to fight no-one to win the title because I’m ‘interim’ champion.
“I’ve had enough fights to justify being a world champion.
“I don’t want that – I want to fight Tyson Fury, because he says he is the best heavyweight alive and to have ever walked the planet.
“I want to fight the best. Hopefully he is going to be a man of his word and not a coward and vacate the belt.”
