Heavyweight superstars Dillian Whyte and Alexander Povetkin go head-to-head this weekend as elite boxing returns.

There have been a number bouts since lockdown restrictions were lifted but this Saturday’s clash will be the most high-profile yet.

Dillian Whyte and Alexander Povetkin will face off this weekend

Whyte vs Povetkin was originally scheduled for May 2 but the bout has had to rearranged twice.

Now the Britain’s ‘Body Snatcher’ will face the tough Russian at Eddie Hearn’s purpose-built Matchroom Boxing HQ in Essex.

Whyte beat Mariusz Wach in Saudi Arabia in December in his last fight while Povetkin drew with Michael Hunter on the same card.

This clash will be for the WBC interim heavyweight title and will set up the winner for a major bout next.

Matchroom Boxing HQ in Essex will host the heavyweight showdown on Saturday, August 22.

The two fighters are expected to make their ring walks at around 10pm but this will depend on the undercard results.

The title fight rematch between Katie Taylor and Delfine Persoon will be just before the main event at around 9pm.

Whyte vs Povetkin: TV Channel and live stream

The fight will be shown live on Sky Sports Box Office with their broadcast starting from 7pm.

It will be available for £19.95, with the full undercard and main event shown.
