Tyson, 54, has been teasing a comeback for several months now, while Jones, 51, was still fighting as recently as two years ago.
Upon hearing the news, Floyd Mayweather said on FatJoe’s Instagram Live: “I think that we seem to forget about who was the pioneer of making exhibition bouts huge.
“I mean, I think that it’s gonna be very interesting.
Jones Jr is a former pound-for-pound king
“I’m not here to say Tyson’s gonna win, I’m not here to say Roy’s gonna win.
“I’m pretty sure it’s gonna be entertaining, I’m pretty sure I’m gonna watch it.
“I don’t know if I can go because I don’t think there’s gonna be any audience at that particular time.
“But, may the best man win.”
Floyd had his own exhibition fight in Japan back in 2018
Anthony Joshua Joshua told Sky VIP: “I think it’s for a passion from them both, it’s what they’ve known.
“Mike Tyson has been fighting since he was like 13 years old, Roy Jones, his dad pushed him to become a great.
“Good luck to them both, it’s all they know.
Joshua is the current unified heavyweight champion
“They haven’t got to do it to compete with the young lions in the division now.
“We’re bigger, we’re stronger, sports science has improved so there is more technology.
“The whole sporting world has kind of developed.
“If Mike Tyson wants to come back and fight someone from his era for the love of the sport, crack on, I wish them well.”
