CSKA head coach Dimitris Itoudis commented on the decision about early completion of the Euroleague season.
“Today is a sad day for Euroleague and basketball. At the same time, I believe that the responsible person, under the circumstances, made a wise decision, which I fully support.
We all like to compete, I want to crown a champion, but unfortunately, this year’s champion — COVID-19. And in order to win, you need the proper training.
I want to thank our owners and all sponsors, to say thank you to the fans for patience. We will need time to accept all the realities of the new era, to understand the situation,” — said the Greek coach of CSKA “news”.
The regular championship of Euroleague was suspended due to the pandemic in early March. On 25 March, the leadership of the tournament decided that the season will not be finished.
CSKA after 28 of 34 rounds took fourth place, scoring 19 victories.
