Joe George pulls out incredible one-punch uppercut KO of Marcos Escudero

Joe George scored a sensational come-from-behind knockout of Marcos Escudero on Saturday night in Connecticut.

The pair first met in a clash of unbeaten light-heavyweights last November, with George winning by split decision.

A rematch was made for PBC’s first event back after the coronavirus pandemic put boxing on hold.

Escudero began the fight well and appeared in control until round nine.

Then, George pulled out a massive uppercut which ended the contest in an instant.

For some reason, the referee unnecessarily completed a full count even though the beaten fighter was clearly not getting up.

It was a big one-punch KO

Escudero was clearly ahead on two of the judges’ scorecards at the time of the stoppage, while one judge oddly had George well in front.

He moved to 11-0 (7KOs) with the win.

In the main event, Angelo Leo defeated late replacement Tramaine Williams to claim the vacant WBO super-bantamweight world title.
