Mining and metallurgical company “Norilsk Nickel”, which is the owner of the Moscow basketball club CSKA, can reduce the funding because of the environmental disaster in Norilsk and impact of the pandemic coronavirus. VTB United League Russian clubs requires open budgets. According to published before the start of last season data, CSKA is the first club in the League by total budget, which amounted to 2,862 billion rubles. Of these, 1 billion rubles Norilsk Nickel pays the owner of the club. Also CSKA received 1,565 billion from a group of sponsors, which includes mining and metallurgical company.

“Including from-for the incident of environmental accident, Norilsk Nickel may cut funding for CSKA. Plus General pandemic, because of this, the company also suffered financial damage, – said Ivanov. – I do not exclude, and even suggest that “Nornikel” can go on budget cuts [CSKA]”.

Earlier financing of basketball club refused “Aeroflot” the contract with which CSKA has received $4 million a year.
