Oleksandr Usyk sent an unusual video message to Derek Chisora on Saturday.
The former undisputed cruiserweight champion was due to face the Brit in his first test at heavyweight on May 23, but the bout was of course postponed by the coronavirus pandemic.
Usyk vs Chisora will hopefully be rescheduled
No new date has yet been solidified for the fight and the Ukrainian is making a public push to ensure that fans remain interested.
He previously posted an amusing video of himself running on a beach while shouting Chisora’s name.
After this went viral, he’s now followed it up with another message to the Brit in broken English, this time while canoeing.
Promoter Eddie Hearn teased late last month that Usyk vs Chisora could land on October 31.
Usyk won every belt at cruiserweight and is now chasing titles in the heavyweight division
Oleksandr Usyk’s message time Derek Chisora
He told Sky: “I had a phone call from Alex Krassyuk, who’s the co-promoter of Oleksandr Usyk saying, ‘Any news? We’re ready to go.’
“They’re the phone calls we’re getting quite a lot at the moment.
“And the pressure mounts on us to come up with [the fight against Chisora].
“Derek is training really hard. October 31st is the date we have penciled in for that fight.
“But it’s dependent on the current deal driving people through the doors and having some kind of gate or moving it internationally and having a site fee.”
