In the second-last pre-quarterfinal match of Rolex Paris Masters 2019, Rafael Nadal defeated Stan Wawrinka 6-4, 6-4. During the smooth battle against Wawrinka, Nadal called the doctor on the court in the middle of second set.
Apparently, the second seed in Paris, Nadal was suffering from some stomach issues and hence he called the doctor. Further details will soon be revealed in the post-match presser.

World Number two, Nadal began with a tough service-hold which was accompanied by a double-fault and a few unforced errors. However, the hefty serves from Stan Wawrinka were withered away by his uncontrolled groundstrokes which aided Rafael Nadal to lead by a break for a 2-1 lead. Backing up the break with a serve and volley, the Spaniard led by 3-1 in the opening set.
Wawrinka continued to be safe and was trailing by a single break throughout the set. He produced a love-hold by responding in a vintage manner to the deadly shots from Rafael Nadal.

Tough Wawrinka returned a few winners while Rafa was serving for the match, but those unforced errors from the Swiss aided Nadal to close out the set 6-4.
Wawrinka continued to play a safe game and did his best to overcome the prowess of Nadal.

Moving on, Stan Wawrinka produced a love-hold and Rafael Nadal emulated the same at 4-4. However, the next game changed the course of the set as Rafa had three break points. With Stan placing a wide forehand, Nadal broke the Swiss champion to 15 and progressed to serve for the match.
Rafa Nadal held his 50th victory of the season and breezed into the quarterfinals of Paris with a 6-4, 6-4 victory over Wawrinka.
