Head coach of “Khimki” Rimas Kurtinaitis admitted that he would like to leave virtually all of the current members of the Moscow team for the next season.
— Now it is difficult to say something about the picking of the club. We had expensive and a good team, and I would like to keep it. Or even for some items you could increase. But it does not depend on the coach, because I don’t know about the damage caused by the situation with coronavirus. It will all depend on budget. If it is good, I’d like to keep 90% of current team.
— If you assemble a new team, you will lose time for adaptation and teamwork. Accordingly, you will lose six months of quality basketball. I as a coach would like to leave, but that’s just my desire. And we must build on opportunities — said Kurtinaitis.
On Monday, the Executive Committee of the Euroleague announced the decision to terminate the current draw of the pandemic coronavirus.
