Tyson Fury vs Deontay Wilder 3: Plans moving forward for fight at massive new venue

Tyson Fury’s trilogy fight with Deontay Wilder is making progress to take place on December 19, according to Bob Arum.

It has been widely known that this is the target date for the bout for several months now.

Fury knocked out Wilder in the seventh round of their rematch in February

However, due to the ongoing pandemic it remains unclear whether fans will be allowed in attendance in the US.

This is crucial as, without a crowd, the organisers lose out on ticket sales worth upwards of $15million.

There have been ideas mooted about taking the fight overseas, though Fury’s promoter Bob Arum recently told talkSPORT they are struggling to get firm guarantees from any country’s health minister that it would definitely be able to happen.

As a result, he’s said they are sticking with their original plan of staging Fury vs Wilder 3 on December 19 at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.

It has a 65,000 capacity

The idea would be for the new 65,000-capacity stadium to host 10,000-15,000 socially distanced fans.

“That’s what we’re moving ahead on, on all fronts, with the security, with the virus, and everything,” Arum told ESPN.

“We’re talking with everybody here in town, with the Raiders.

“So we’re optimistic that we’ll be able to do the event in Nevada, in Las Vegas.”
