Harlem Eubank claimed revenge over bitter rival Martin McDonagh with a stunning eight-round stoppage on Wednesday night.
The highlight of an action-packed MTK Global card from Production Park Studios in Wakefield was undoubtedly Eubank’s scintillating knockout of his former amateur foe.
Harlem Eubank scored his 10th professional victory against Martin McDonagh
McDonagh, who came into the fight with an 8-1 record, had previously claimed victory over Eubank in two amateur meetings.
Yet it was a case of revenge instead of repeat for ‘New York’ as he closed the show with a stunning series of hooks to the head.
After feinting to go to the body, Eubank unleashed a corkscrew left to the head, before ducking under a counter and firing off a one-two which sent his foe to the canvas.
Now 10-0 and with three knockouts, the super-lightweight from Brighton is hoping to follow in the footsteps of his famous uncle – the legendary two-weight world champion Chris Eubank.
Harlem, who is cousins with Chris Eubank Jr, unleashed a series of devastating hooks
Cousin Chris and Seb Eubank are both professionals, with Chris Eubank Jr having tasted world title glory and his younger brother having just started his professional career and is now 2-0.
It was a thrilling night of midweek action by the MTK team, with Akeem Ennis Brown clinching the British and Commonwealth super-lightweight titles against Philip Bowes.
Dan Azeez also retained his British light-heavyweight title over long-term training rival Andre Sterling, while undefeated Irishman Padraig McCrory scored a huge first-round knockout win against Mickey Ellison.
